The aim of the Awards is to recognise business leaders and companies that have excelled in Africa over the last year. The winners have made an outstanding contribution to the development of the continent, the economic aspirations of its citizens and the transformation of Africa's image in international markets.

Judging Criteria for African Business Awards 2011

To qualify for the African Business Awards 2011 you must be a company (or an individual from a company) based in Africa, including corporate headquarters or branch offices of international companies. Submissions for multiple awards are permitted. Entries can be made on behalf of an individual or team as long as permission has been granted by the entrant(s). We accept submissions for joint entries between different companies for the 'Award for Innovation', 'Investor of the Year', 'Award for Best Corporate Social Responsibility' and 'Green Award of the Year'.

Entrants will be judged for their performance for the fiscal year 2010.

The deadline for submissions has been extended to the 11th May 2011
